Pet Neon Red Crayfish

Sunday, August 11, 2013

Hello all ~! I just got 2 new pets and wanted to share the joy with my readers! (: Most people would keep dogs, bunnies, even fishes or hamsters as pets... But me?? 2 super cute neon red crayfishes! I've had the brown one in the above picture for about 2 weeks now. He seems pretty passive, mostly hiding behind the rock in his tank.

He only comes out of his hiding place during feeding time and scurries back into his hide-out once he senses any movements ! Oh, and he loves to dig under the gravels until he finds a secure hiding place as well. What a shy boy indeed! (P.S If you were wondering how I know about his sexuality, read on! ^^)

On the other hand, I just got this super bright orange cutie at a fish farm in Pasir Ris today. (: So far, she has been really active and I've witnessed her trying to escape from her tank so many times ! Thank God the tank has a lid or she might just end up missing in action !!

Since she is slightly bigger in size, I gave her a bigger home. However, her tank is still relatively empty and I am thinking of getting some plastic plants or a small rock for her to hide. Might be going back to the fish farm for those when I am available! (:

So, after all these he/she talk, you must be puzzled as to how I managed to differentiate the sexuality of my pet crayfishes. Here's how!! (Refer to the diagram below.) Pretty interesting, huh? (;

If you are thinking of getting one as a pet now, you can get them at aquarium shops or even fish farms. They are relatively hardy creatures, but if you do not have a big tank, it's best to keep only one, as they tend to fight.

Apart from that, they require a lot of oxygen as well, so if the water is overhead, it'll be advisable to put oxygen bubbles. Alternatively, you can just put a little bit of water (just slightly below their head) and you will be fine as well! (: Either way, don't forget the anti-chlorine!

As for food, I will feed them just once a day with floating pellets and change their water every 1.5 weeks or so.

Just a little tip: When the water temperature gets a little warm (inevitable in this humid climate of Singapore), you can add some ice cubes into their tank to help cool down the water temperature. Shell creatures usually prefer lower temperatures. Overall, I find them pretty interesting pets and relatively easy to keep. (:

(P.P.S Do you own a crayfish or any interesting pets as well? Feel free to drop a comment and share your experiences below.)

The Body Shop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask Review

Saturday, August 10, 2013

Hi all, I am back again ~! Since it's the long weekend, might as well take the opportunity to fill up this space before I get back to work and start to neglect it again.

In this post, I am to do a review on The Bodyshop Seaweed Ionic Clay Mask which I got sometime ago. Been using it on a weekly basis ever since.. (:

Here is how it looks like inside. I know it looks gross, muddy and all !! But it has been pretty effective, at least for me. So, do not judge a book by it's cover. Gross looking things can have a good effect too ! =P

And the before and after picture of doing the clay mask. I am sure you can tell the difference. I am having a breakout and it just looks so terrible, but after the facial session, it looks so much better ! :D

Of course, for every product, there are pros and cons. Now, I am going to share it with you (Note!: This is only my personal experience, it may differ for you.)

Pros

1. Effective in controlling oily face.
2. Skin feels smoother and tighter after usage.
3. Skin feels cleansed, some blackheads removed.
4. Dries up fast, not messy.
5. Face brightens up after usage.
6. Pretty cheap for a clay mask, at only $30+.

Cons

1. Needs to be washed off after usage.
2. Personally, I dislike the minty feeling as it is too strong.

Overall: 8/10 (Highly recommended!)

If you are feeling tempted, you may get yours now at all The Body Shop outlets. (:

(P.S This is not a paid ad, just a personal review of a product I bought with my own money.)

The Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Mist Review

Friday, August 9, 2013

Happy National Day, fellow Singaporeans ~! (: While at work recently, I found out about something interesting, which I thought would be good to share with you all, especially the girls.

So, I am sure many of you girls have heard of the awesome reviews on this Body Shop Vitamin E Facial Mist on the skin.... But did you know, that it is useful for frizzy hair as well? As crazy as it sounds, yes, it actually works !

I've always had frizzy hair ever since I rebonded it recently. The ends are literally damaged !! So, I cultivated the habit to carry a hair serum with me, but I forgot about it when I changed bags and was looking through my bag when saw this...

Me being me, I thought to myself, if it helps to hydrate the face, then what about hair? And spritz some on. To my surprise, it really worked !! See the before and after picture ??? (:

Being curious, I looked at then list of ingredients and realised there is rosewater in it... So I googled and found this article: http://makeupandbeauty.com/rose-water-hair-care/ (Check it out !!) So cool right?? You can try it too. (:

Sidetracking a little, I bought some interesting teas at Mark & Spencer last Sunday, during my first trip to JEM. Being a lover of teas, I decided to grab a few to try. Will do a review on these teas soon, so stay tuned. ^^

Sashimi Feast @ Sushi Tei

Thursday, August 8, 2013

It's been awhile, you all ~!! So, for the first time of my life, I tried the uni sashimi at Sushi Tei @ JEM. Sashimi has been my biggest love ever since I've remembered and I've always wanted to try uni.

However, upon knowing that it's sea urchin, I would say none of my friends that I've gone to Japanese Restaurants with dared to eat it! ): What a disappointment... And since it's really hard to prepare, uni sashimi is usually a little pricey, so I never ordered it.

Until I was out with the bitch last Sunday, she suddenly suggested trying that. I was surprised, yet happy that finally, someone dared to try it with me! :D

The feeling of having that lucious piece of uni in our mouths is just orgasmic !! The serving was pretty generous for $38 and  it was really flavourful. Totally loved it ~!!

In the end, our total bill came up to around $122, for just 2 ladies! Talk about pigging out! :/

To end off this post, here's a picture of the bitch and myself with our uni. ^^ Look at our excited + satisfied faces ~!! This is a definite must-try for all sashimi lovers if you do visit Sushi Tei. Our next target is the pufferfish sashimi, if we can find it! (;

(P.S Are you a sashimi lover as well? Feel free to share any restaurants which serves awesome sashimi !)

Work & Earl Grey Tea @ The Cookie Museum

Sunday, July 14, 2013

Hi everyone, here's to show everyone I'm still kicking and alive. So to my foes, too bad for you ~! =P Hahaha! Just kidding.. (P.S I love this knit top from Zara !! No regrets splurging on this.)

Here's my happy pill at work !! I had to do an update here on my blog. Can't stand how she is making me laugh at work everyday. Her jokes are seriously funny !! And I love how she doesn't even need to try to be funny. (:

AND! On a random note, I finally got 2 new charms (the bouquet and the gift) for my bracelet. ^^ 2-3 more charms away from a full bracelet !! I'm proud of it.. Can't wait for my second bracelet already. *Jumps in excitement* !

Lastly, for Earl Grey lovers, you may want to try this Lady Earl from The Cookie Museum. It's a fusion of Earl Grey and Lavender tea. It's light, yet fragrant. Totally in loveee with this ~! (: Go on and try it now, it's at Esplanade, just right beside Max Brenner's. (:

(P.P.S It's my birthday next month. I wish time didn't pass this fast.:/ I'm feeling old already !)

Interview x Movie Date

Tuesday, May 21, 2013

Hi all, I've been dying to update this space, but my phone decided to die on me and all my blogging materials are as good as gone! ): I didn't want to fill this space with just words, so I ended up having to wait till I had a phone..

Thank God my boyfriend had a spare iphone 4 which I could borrow. I really can't imagine living without a handphone till end of this month! Can't wait to lay my hands on the Samsung Galaxy S4 already! :X

So back to topic, I wore this outfit for an interview and movie date last Saturday. (Yes, I finally caught Iron Man 3. Better late than never!) I woke up slightly later than expected and was rushing to find something to wear, hence, I decided to just throw on a little black dress, formal enough, yet not as formal as office wear, if that even makes sense..

Decided to add on dashes of colours with my choice of a bright coloured handbag and ballerina flats from Pedro, featuring yellow nautical stripes. What do you think about this outfit? Do feel free to comment. (:

Dress Up Day & Epilogue Cafe @ OC

Friday, May 17, 2013

Today was a night out with the dearest, Diyanah. Surprisingly, we were both clad in pink.. Totally unplanned coincidence!

I wore a neon dress and tamed the whole look with a white studded tailored vest. Grabbed my favourite handbag to match my dress and the Dirty Laundry boots in pewter to toughen up the whole girly look. (:

My friend, Diyanah, went all out for a girl-next-door style with her fuschia cardigan and colourful printed dress. She also threw on a brown belt to accentuate her waistline. Ballerina flats and a black handbag from Coach, which went well with her shoes.

On a heavier note, we were supposed to catch The Grand Gatsby, but the cinemas were mostly full, with the exception of the front seats. What a disappointment! ): In the end, we've decided to leave that plan for end of the month.

So, we decided to head to Epilogue Cafe for a little treat instead. Our initial plan was the chocolate brownie with ice-cream, but the kitchen was closed.

I ended up getting the tiramisu, which I really really regretted because it tasted like nothing but liquor to me! It was way too overwhelming! I would have far preferred something more creamy with a little sweetness to it.

As for Diyanah, she got a chocolate muffin which looked pretty good. At least, I believe it would have been far better than my alcoholic tasting tiramisu.

To sign off, I'd say my Friday night was pretty fulfilling. How about you? Hope yours went well too! (:
